'Why I Was Unhappy Under Sir Alex Ferguson ' - Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has revealed he was unhappy at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson because he felt he was being played out of position.

Rooney says he was fed up with being played in midfield, but insists that he is now happy and settled under new manager David Moyes, who is fielding him up front.

Although Ferguson's name was not mentioned as Rooney spoke of the frustrations he felt at being repeatedly selected out of position, it was clear the major difference at United this season is Moyes occupying the manager's chair.
"You can clearly see I'm playing and I'm happy in my football," said Rooney. "David Moyes has come in, he's playing me up front, and I'm enjoying it.
"I've had no problem playing out of position in the past, but I'm a forward and I felt I deserved the right to play in my position.
"That wasn't happening. Naturally I was a bit disappointed and maybe that affected some of the games I played because last season wasn't my best.
"Everyone at the club knew where I wanted to play. Maybe I will play in midfield when I'm a bit older if I have lost my legs a bit but I didn't want to play there.
"I'm not saying I am going to throw my arms up in the air and not do it if we were hanging on a bit in the last 10 minutes of a game and I got asked to drop back. But there came a point where I had to be a bit selfish for my own career."
Rooney's contractual situation - he has less than two years to run on his current deal - is also uncertain, and he stopped short of confirming he wants to stay at Old Trafford beyond this season.
"To be honest I've been settled all summer," he said. "I know from the outside looking in it might not have seemed like that, but I have.
"I spoke with the people who matter at the club and we knew what we were doing. The club made that clear.
"My wife had a new child and I've been really happy. I'm not going to go on saying I wanted to stay or I wanted to leave.
"I just want to concentrate on my football. We'll see what happens after that."

BREAKING NEWS: 15 People Died, Among Them Two Children, Five Survived In Lagos Plane Crash (UPDATED, PHOTOS, VIDEO)

The number of people killed in a plane crash in Lagos has increased up to 15, two children among them. Five survivors are in hospital. The plane carrying 27 people and conveying the body of the former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu, crashed this morning at the Murtala Muhammed airport in Lagos immediately after take-off.

The charter flight took off at about 09:30 from the domestic terminal at Lagos Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
Officials said the plane crashed on to open land within the airport complex close to a fuel storage a minute after take-off.
Spokesman for the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Supo Atobatele, added that the engine of the jet had failed on takeoff and it crash-landed and burst into flames.

Aviation Ministry spokesman, Joe Obi, added that the plane nose-dived into a building in the area: "The plane couldn't lift properly so it just came down."
Spokesperson of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Yakubu Datti, told Al Jazeera that there are five survivors. They have been rushed to a nearby hospital, he added.
Datti confirmed that the Black Box of the aircraft have been recovered and investigation will commence immediately.
One of the eyewitnesses, Ahmad Safian, told the BBC: "I heard a loud bang and then there was lots of black smoke. The security forces rushed straight to the scene. I saw three bodies removed from the wreckage."
He also said the road to the airport was blocked for a short time but operations were continuing as normal at the airport.

The passengers
An Associated Airline jet was carrying seven crew and 20 passengers heading to Akure, Ondo state for the burial of former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu, who passed away September 13, 2013.
Agagu's family members and Ondo state officials were in the plane. Two of Agagu’s children, a son and a daughter, did not survive. However, ex-governor's wife was not in the plane crash; she and Agagu’s brother, Femi, arrived Akure earlier in a separate flight.
The jet was also conveying the corpse of Agagu. The casket carrying his corpse was found intact in the rubble of plane.

While the plane was about to leave the Lagos airport, Ondo State government officials, including Governor Olusegun Mimiko, as well as other members of Agagu’s family gathered at the Akure airport waiting for the corpse of the former governor. They have moved to the Ondo government house after hearing of the tragedy.
